Each Dog is Shaped Differently and Have Unique Recovery Needs
We're pleased to offer pet owners a selection of premium recovery collars in a wide range of styles and sizes that depart from the “one style fits all” plastic cone approach. These comfortable alternatives to plastic collars include Soft Cones, Inflatable Collars, Neck Braces and Body Wrap designs. Premium collars offer the added benefit of easy installation and adjustment. All are washable, reusable and suitable for pets requiring extended care.
Soft Cones maintain the e-collar shape for maximum head protection and are made from light, tear resistant materials or strong fabrics. They are easy to install and some are fully adjustable with Velcro® or other fasteners. There are even soft plastic classical styles that now offer enhanced easy to install and adjust benefits. They do well when:
- You need to protect injuries to the paws
- You need to protect injuries to the eyes and ears
- When your dog has stitches or injuries to their lower back where the tail is
- If your dog has long limbs
- When your dog has long snouts or long necks
Inflatable Collars create an area of protection that radiates away from a pet’s neck to restrict them from reaching head, neck and abdominal injuries. Neck support and cervical protection can also be provided. These collars are made from soft scratch and bite resistant materials and some are fully adjustable to account for different body, neck and leg sizes. They do well when:
- A cone is too big because your dog has short legs such as French Bulldogs or Dachshunds
- When your dog has a short snout and a collar is sufficient
- When your dog has stitches or injuries to their necks and shoulders
Neck Braces or cervical collar styles provide comfort and protection for pets requiring body-only coverage. There is no peripheral vision or hearing restriction with this style collar. The fully adjustable fasteners can be supplemented with stabilization straps to maintain a proper neck fit.
Body Wrap styles are made from soft materials that cover most of the pet’s body like a form fitting shirt. While primarily intended for preventing pets from agitating post-surgery wounds or sensitive skin areas, they can also be used for treating incontinence and reducing separation anxiety.
The benefits of premium pet recovery collars are clear. Cone shaped plastic recovery collars too often channel loud and strange noises to a pet’s ears, restrict peripheral vision and lead to injuries from bumping into furniture and people. Pets can be stressed by the manipulation of clips, tape or buttons near their neck and head during installation and removal of rigid plastic collars. Premium pet recovery collars promote healing by providing comfortable alternatives that dogs and cats will not resist wearing. Smaller premium collar sizes provide the same protection for cats, puppies, kittens and small mammals.
The Pet Recovery Collar team has personally researched premium collars at veterinary conferences and pet industry trade shows worldwide. We are proud to present our selection of caring products that help pets heal.
